Key Features of NSW3:
Sponsor Sessions- Provided by our sponsors, these informational seminars will provide relevant information and materials about how to conduct an effective pitch and how to locate venture capital after Startup Weekend.
Open Mentoring Periods- Saturday afternoon has 3 hours of designated mentor time. These are 15-minute sessions which teams can use at their discretion for targeted feedback in finance, intellectual property, and other relevant topics. Sign-ups will be available on Saturday at 8:00AM.
Dress Rehearsals- This integral component of the program will give teams dedicated content feedback about their ventures before the final Sunday pitch. All teams will have 10 minutes to present and will receive feedback from the dress rehearsal panel for 5 minutes, as well as written notes from the panel. All teams should have their presentations in a workable format by their dress rehearsal time in order to ensure a high degree of professionalism on Sunday afternoon. Signups for dress rehearsals will be on Saturday at 8:00AM.
Final Presentations- All teams will conduct a final pitch on Sunday afternoon, beginning at 1:00PM. They will have 10 minutes to present and 5 minutes for Q&A. All teams are responsible for providing each venture capital panelist with a hard copy of their presentation as well as a one-page concept overview of their venture, including mission, operations, and preliminary financial data.
Wrap-Up- After the final presentations, the venture capital panel will rank each of the presenting teams from best to worst, and will share brief feedback about how each venture was ranked. During this wrap-up, participants will also be asked to provide general feedback about how we can improve Startup Weekend for future participants.
