Well, good question.
Most of us either have or know stay-at-home moms. I know my wife is awesome and does amazing things as a stay-at-home mom, but she needs opportunities to meet and talk with other adults during the day. In the early days of our kids, there were several times that I came home and hear about how much she just needed to say something other than "baby-talk" saying how great it must be for me to go and work every day ... interacting with other adults.
Well, Pete, one of the guys at Startup Weekend, also has a wife with similar needs and he pitched this idea for a simple web app to help her out.
Several us of got together and saw the benefit ... both personally and on a larger scale as there are very few good applications out there targeted toward stay-at-home moms, or any type of mom for that matter.
We came up with the following mission statement:
To help moms get out more by helping stay-at-home moms coordinate play dates between their friends, offering adult conversations to moms while allowing their children to play together and build early friendships.
This application will help moms use their current networks and help them to facilitate getting together with their friends. There are tons of benefits and features and we are going to continue to look for even more ways to make it better.
In the meantime, we have a website holder that will soon have at least some basic functionality.
Currently, we ask that if you are interested, check it out and enter your email address. When we get something worthwhile out there, we'll email you to let you know.
